Help & FAQ
Short answers to the questions we hear most.
Is PLAN'T free?
Yes. Identification, watering schedules, and plant tracking are free with no account. A free Google sign-in is needed for one thing: reminders that reach your phone.
How does the pot material logic work?
Terracotta is porous and breathes, so soil dries fastest; plastic and glazed pots hold moisture longer. Both the vessel and what's inside it now shift the interval. Substrate most of all, because it acts throughout the root ball where the pot wall acts only at the edge. What the pot size changes is the amount: the pour is sized to pot volume.
Do I need an account to track plants?
No. Your garden works instantly. An account adds reminders that reach you and carries your garden to another device, including the pot material, substrate, drainage and spot behind each date. What stays on this device alone is your theme choice and a spare copy of recent activity.
How does weather-synced watering work?
You tell us your city once. We read four live values for it: the mean of the next seven daily highs, the temperature and humidity right now, which together give the dryness of the air, and the rain due for anything kept outside. Then we stretch or shrink each plant's interval accordingly. A heatwave moves watering up; cold or humid air pushes it back. Indoors, we apply half the swing, since a room smooths out what a balcony gets in full.
What happens to my data?
Plant records live in our database tied to an anonymous ID unless you sign in. Client-side details never leave your browser. We don't sell data or run ads. See the Privacy page for specifics.
